Privacy Policy
The short version
- The Kiniq app has no accounts and no servers. We don't collect, sell or share your personal data.
- Everything you enter or log in the app is stored on your iPhone.
- The camera picture is analyzed on your iPhone while you train. It's never recorded, saved or uploaded.
- The app has no advertising, analytics or tracking.
- This website uses cookie-free Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits.
This policy explains what the Kiniq app for iPhone and the kiniqfitness.com website handle, and where that information goes. "Kiniq", "we" and "us" mean Kiniq Fitness.
Information the app stores on your iPhone
Kiniq keeps the following on your device so the app can work:
- Profile: your first name, goals, experience level, equipment, body weight, units, diet preference, training days and training time.
- Coached sessions: for each session, the lift, your sets, reps, weights and the form grade of each set, and the form notes the coach gave. No images or video are kept.
- Training plans: the goal, length and start date of a plan you choose.
- Daily logs: morning check-ins (sleep, energy, soreness and stress), sleep hours, water, steps, and the foods and meals you log.
- Weigh-ins: the body weights you log, for your weight trend.
- Settings: reminder times, coach settings such as voice, rest times, music and weight steps, and your appearance choice.
This information isn't sent to us or to anyone else. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, it's included in that backup like other app data, under Apple's terms.
Apple Health
If you connect Apple Health, Kiniq reads your steps, sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate variability. Steps count toward your daily step goal; sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate variability, compared with your own recent average, go into your daily readiness score. This happens on your iPhone. Kiniq doesn't write to Apple Health, doesn't use Health data for advertising, and doesn't share it with anyone. You can turn access off at any time in the Health app or in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Kiniq.
Camera
Kiniq uses the camera during a coached session to watch your movement. Each frame is analyzed on your iPhone with Apple's Vision framework to find the position of your joints, which is used to count and grade your reps. The picture is shown on screen while you train and then discarded: it isn't recorded, saved to your photos, stored in the app or uploaded. Only the results (reps, grades and form notes) are kept, as described above. The camera is used only while a session is open.
Ask Kiniq
Ask Kiniq answers your questions with Apple's on-device language model, on iPhones that support Apple Intelligence. Your question, and the summary of your recent sessions and targets it uses as context, are processed on your iPhone and aren't sent to us or to any other service.
Apple Music
If you choose Apple Music in Coach settings, Kiniq asks for access so it can play, pause and skip your music and show what's playing during a session. It doesn't read or send your library anywhere. Kiniq's own workout mixes are built into the app.
Notifications
Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone; they don't come from a server. You can turn them off in Kiniq's Profile screen or in Settings → Notifications → Kiniq.
Purchases
Kiniq Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's privacy policy. We don't receive your payment details or your Apple ID. Apple tells the app whether a subscription is active so the right features unlock.
